Kia Sportage

The Kia Sportage was the first car that I looked at when I was searching for a newer car last year but somehow I ended up with a Golf R!

This one was in pretty good condition but on closer inspection I noticed fine swirl marks already starting to appear, especially on the bonnet. There was also quite a build-up of tar spots on the lower parts of the bodywork ...

The Sportage also seems to suffer from water streaking marks most notably below the door handles as these tend to hold a lot of grime which is then released when the car is washed or when it rains ...

It was straight to work with a pressure washer rinse followed by an application of Valetpro Ph Neutral snow foam ...

The Sportage was then rinsed and hand washed using Chemical Guys Maxi Suds Grape. It was a hot day so any water spots or streaks were wiped off using Gyeon Q2M. Ideally the car needs a full iron and tar decontamination and a coat of Carpro Reload sealant which provides a sacrificial layer of protection and a glossy finish.

When I had finished the car looked pretty good but would look even better with a full detail.

Happy detailing - Dave
