Honda Civic Type R! - ME16 Detail & Interior Detail

The beauty about car detailing is that you get to work on all types of cars and it's always a happy day when I get to work on a car like the Type R ... it's like car porn!

However .... a hairy dog is not a detailers best friend 😂 Unfortunately if your dog travels in your car you have to accept that your car is going to end up looking a bit like this ...

Neutradol carpet deodoriser helps to neutralise the doggy smell and I tend to use this on most interior valets.

The problem with dog hairs is that they tend to become entangled in the fibres of the carpet and this makes them quite hard to remove. The only solution is plenty of brushing with a stiff brush, the application of an all purpose cleaner and thorough scrubbing and vacuuming.

If I was a dog and got to ride in a Civic Type R every day I'd be wagging my tail like crazy!

Fortunately I have strong arms, a powerful vacuum, plenty of Meguairs APC and a passion for detailing cars!

As expected the recent wet weather had taken it's toll on the bodywork and wheels ...

The Honda was looking a bit sorry for itself ...

So it was down to the usual process of a foam pressure wash and rinse ...

Followed by my hot water multi mitt hand wash using the amazing Bilt Hamber Auto Wash, a further pressure wash rinse, wheels treated with Korrosol fallout and grease remover, a coat of Koch Chemie FSE, a coat of Simoniz QD and a tyre dressing. After 6 hours of graft the Type R was looking stunning, even on a grey and overcast December afternoon ...

I do like a bit of car detailing with a happy ending 😜

Happy detailing - Dave.
