Even Small Cars Need a Little TLC

A lovely lady spotted me working on another car in her road and asked if I could give her Fiat 500 a little TLC.

The car was in pretty good condition but the bodywork was covered in a light layer of road grime including streaks, tar spots, iron spots and dead bugs.

I followed my usual routine of pressure wash rinse, snow foam and further rinse. This little Fiat 500 proved quite a challenge during the wash and rinse stage as most of the chrome trim was full of diluted road grime. It required several passes with the pressure washer to finally clear the trims of all of the underlying crap that had collected over the last few months. Once this was complete I gave the little car a hand wash and a dry off with a plush soft microfibre towel.

At this stage the car was looking pretty clean ....

However, an application of Carpro Iron X fallout remover soon revealed that the car was literally covered in iron particle contaminants ...

This brilliant product highlights all of the fallout that still remains on the bodywork even after an extensive wash process ...

I went about spraying the whole car with the Iron X and leaving it for a few minutes to do it's magic before I rinsed off the purple residue and dried the car with a soft microfibre towel.

I also spent a few minutes on the interior of the Fiat but to be honest it was already pretty clean ...

It was fairly hard work for a little car but I was well pleased with the result, as was the lovely owner ...

Happy detailing - Dave
